Grumpy stuff

How the hell did we get sold on CD's?  They were such a small step from vinyl that they were hardly worth the trouble, yet here we are with hundreds of the bloody things which wont play! Why? Because the plastic is crap and scratches too easily. The sleeves on vinyl were a thing of beauty and also a handy table for ..... things too. The CD? The cases break, those stupid foul little plastic pegs break and thats it! Why in the name of god are they "Jewel Cases"????? I need a magnifying lense to read the notes on a CD, even the best of them are hardly a replacement for sleev art are they. I remember watching TV programmes showing CD's spread with jam and still playing!!! Of course they were, the tracks were on the other side!!
